Juicy Couture Spring 2012 Collection - Track, Pop & Flirt Couture

I recently attended the Juicy Couture Spring 2012 Collection celebration at Chateau Juicy in New York City.  President and Chief Creative Officer LeAnn Nealz presented her first official collection for Spring 2012, with a renewed commitment to quality, design, and fashion.  The Juicy team, in collaboration with set designer Stefan Beckman, created a set inspired by the feel of an intimate chateau setting accented with pops of color and unique Juicy touches.

Backstage, NARS International Lead Makeup Artist Uzo and Duffy from Moroccanoil perfected the models’ looks.  Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed light bites, and wine provided by Brancott Estate.  Additionally, BluePrint Cleanse was on hand backstage.  The music was played by DJ Sebastien Perrin.  Notable attendees included Jaime King, Juno Temple, Zoe Kravitz, Gretchen Mol, Sami Gayle and Melissa Farman.

With a nod to tennis, a diligence for uncovering the element of surprise, and a dose of LA-inspired color, Juicy Couture delivers a brilliant and inventive collection for Spring 2012.  The season reflects the brand’s renewed commitment to design, quality and fashion.  Even the beloved tracksuit is on a whole new track.

The modern evolution of track celebrates separates:  sophisticated silk leggings beg for sharp jackets, cropped shrunken hoodie sweaters get layered over flirty dresses and laidback side-striped trousers work with woven leather stacked heels.  Gone are the days of matching tops and bottoms.  “It’s the track grown up, reigniting what made Juicy so iconic—the feeling of breaking rules and mixing things up, contrasting colors, beautiful textures and cleverness,” said LeAnn Nealz, Juicy Couture President and Chief Creative Officer.

Activewear undertones and tennis overlays offer up country club cricket sweaters done in a fresh crochet, ’20s inspired tennis sweater dresses pleated to perfection, luxe printed silk scarf bra tips and slit back polo dresses with puffed sleeves.  The mood extends seamlessly into accessories like perforated leather bags, sport-inspired resin charm necklaces, bracelets, and belts, and knit headbands specked with paillettes.

On-trend hues register through color blocking and stripes, while primaries reunite in refreshing combinations.  Traditional ruby stripes get reinvented in a sexy lace up dress and a striped tee gets subtle peplum styling.  Colorblocking polishes a mod ponte dress, stacked leather heels, and sleek leather cluthces and wallets.  Striping lend a preppy feel to pencil skirts and blazers, offers new direction to silk tops and brings a sporty sentiment to resin bangles.

Spring 2012 evokes the kind of confidence, effortless and fun that speaks to Juicy Couture’s roots.  While smart, polished pieces with a high fashion sensibility echo a return to quality.  Weighty, more considered hardware adorns everything from angora tipped cardigans to gold chain infused hoodies to colorblocked clutches.

Timeless silhouettes like the trench and motorcycle jacket get refreshed with an attitude that only Juicy Couture knows how to convey.  “We’ve incorporated elevated fabrications and sophisticated details for a fresh, sexy take on classics,”  says Nealz.  “This is a such a fun and creative brand to work on and this collection is just the beginning of an exciting future for Juicy Couture.”
